The Green New Deal (GND) is a comprehensive plan to combat climate change while creating good-paying union jobs, expanding public infrastructure, and ensuring environmental justice for all. It means transitioning to 100% renewable energy, investing in clean water, public transit, and affordable utilities, and making sure frontline communities — especially in working-class neighborhoods like ours — are heard and prioritized.

It might be fruitful for the Kansas branch of the SDUSA to enlighten the rest of us on how they have managed to build and sustain what appears to be the only functioning social democratic local in the country. Your state must have produced a handful of folks who are willing to perform some thankless tasks in the hope of making life a little better for your fellow citizens. Kudos to Kansas.
I wish Mr. Lopez well in his electoral endeavors. I just hope he is closer to Frank Zeidler than Zohran Mamdani.
The Buffalo and New York City SDUSA locals are also functioning. In fact, our Buffalo chapter is larger than DSA’s, if turnout at the Labor Day Parade is any indication.
My apologies. I just wish we had some sort of functioning local here in the Greater Boston area.
